Comedian Chris Davis (SCOT)
DJ Seraphim Breno Gradel

hosted by Neil Numb Comedy (SCOT)

★★★★★ LIVE MUSIC ★★★★★

The Jolie Blondes

Berlin Americana stalwarts Tom Lee Who and Joe Armstrong know 120 years and many hundreds of folk, country, bluegrass and country rock songs between them.

Over the last 14 years, together, and in their internationally- celebrated bands Two Dollar Bash and Lord Mouse and The Kalypso Katz, they’ve played every Berlin backroom, jam
session and big stage.

Their new band The Jolie Blondes, named after the most famous song in the Cajun canon, is a roots music passion project celebrating strings and vocal harmony.

Talented Australian singer-songwriter Samantha met Tom onstage where they broke a room full of hearts on two classic Gram and Emmylou numbers.

Edinburgh-born dobro master Gavin Taylor and his band toured Scotland by mooring their sailing ship at whisky distilleries and playing from the deck before he arrived in Berlin to dry out in 2019 and met Joe at a jam.

The Jolie Blondes’ heavenly harmonies and rootsy grooves show their deep love of good stories told properly in song.

★★★★★ AMELIA JANE HUNTER ★★★★★

Amelia Jane Hunter (AUS)
Originally from Darwin, Amelia now lives and loves in the land of bone structure, broad shoulders and smoldering eye contact; Berlin.
Touring the expansive girth of Europe, UK and Australia finding and funding perverted love, true crime and culinary frights, Amelia is an unstoppable adventurer.

Riveting, ribald and completely uncensored, Amelia’s brand of individual comedy and solo shows have earned her top accolades and comedy awards in Australia and the UK.
A powerful storyteller with a penchant for the theatrical, never short of a story or afraid to pepper the air blue, Amelia Jane Hunter is the carnival ride that should have been closed down the day Michael Jacksons’ hair caught fire.

‘Raw, outrageous, completely unapologetic and enthralling to watch‘
UK Comedy Guide

‘She is a brilliant tour de force of laughter filled mischievous comedy.’
Time Out UK

‘An incredible talent, bold and daring’ -3 Weeks, Edinburgh

★★★★★ CHRIS DAVIS ★★★★★

Chris Davis (SCOTLAND)
is a comedian from Glasgow, Scotland. He is a regular performer in the Berlin English comedy scene. He has performed in New York, London, and Belgium, of all places! He performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012 and 2013. In 2013, he was a finalist in The Scottish Comedian of the Year. In 2014 he took his show to the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and will do the same in March 2015. He enjoys olives. But never used to.

“A down-to-earth character who embodies everything it means to be a true Scottish comedian” – Broadway Baby.

“Davis is entertainment with a capital E!” – one4review.

★★★★★ DJ SERAPHIM ★★★★★

”Conceived on the misty waters of the Amazon river, and born at a VIP room of an abandoned dusty disco, Seraphim had since an early age an inclination to the life-changing aspects that music and organized sound can provoke on the human soul. Shamanism, musique concrète, conceptual art, quantum physics, aromatherapy, culinary … Are all elements contributing to and inspiring his exquisite sound.

Each set takes us on a journey through sonic universes, traveling around every possible style and musical influences. From exotica to experimental jazz, from cheesy eighties disco to unexpected mash-ups, from jumpy klezmer to burlesque old-timers.

Each upcoming track is a surprise and will expand the boundaries of the listener’s ears, bringing sometimes joy and luxury, sometimes drama and fear. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes and your ass-shaking pants to the oddly exquisite world of Seraphim’s musical explorations.”

All COVID safety measures will be in place at the festival, please bring your masks, hand sanitizer will be around the venue and you will need to write down your details, seats will be arranged with distancing, please help us out by respecting this.

BERLIN SUPERHOT PROJECT

BERLIN SUPERHOT PROJECT

A SUPERHOT SAUCE FOR BERLIN by Crazy Bastard Sauce

We want to make a local hot sauce for Berlin, made in Berlin and from ingredients grown in Berlin. The city has many allotments, urban farms and gardens which can supply us with great ingredients like apples, pumpkins, onions and even sweet peppers and chilis.

But we need something hotter than the average chili. We want to work with some of the worlds hottest chilis, grown in Berlin.

Many of our customers are also chili lovers and hobby gardeners, with years of experience of growing chilis on their balconies, in their apartments or in their gardens and allotments (if they are lucky enough to have them), so we want to ask for your help to grow superhot chilis in Berlin for 2020.

Berlin Superhot Project - Gargening equiptment with young chili plants

WHAT IS A SUPERHOT SHILI?

A Superhot chili is any type of chili pepper that is typically rated at 1 million Scoville or higher. It starts with the famous Ghost Pepper, also known as the Bhut Jolokia, and it goes all the way up to about 2 million Scoville with chilis such as the 7 Pot brain strain, the Trinidad Scorpion and the world record holder Carolina Reaper. There may be even hotter hybrid chilis out there.

If you’re not sure about the Scoville rating of your chili just look it up on Wikipedia, most of the common ones are listed on there. If you can’t find it on Wikipedia just take a big bite of the chili, and if you have a near death experience it’s probably a Superhot.

WHERE DO I GET THE CHILI PLANTS?

By now it may be too late in the season to grow from seed, so we have some young superheat plants for sale to help you get started. These are available on our pickup website: www.crazybb2b.com

Alternatively, you can get the very same plants delivered anywhere in Berlin from https://chilipunk.com

We do not send child plants in the post. They get damaged.

HOW DO I CARE FOR THE CHILIS?

Join the facebook group Berlin Chili Growers Group – This is a space for child growers to ask questions, give tips, share progress and connect with the wider Berlin clili growing community. There are also some very experienced growers in that group who will be happy to help out if you have any problems or questions.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

You grow superhot chilis on your balcony, in your garden, on your allotment or anywhere you can grow them. We buy the chilis from you and turn them into BERLIN SUPERHOT Sauce.

  • It must be a Superhot Chili (see below)
  • It must be grown by you
  • It must be grown within 50km of our store on Weserstrasse
  • It must be free from pesticides

WHAT DO I GET?

We will buy any superhot chilis up to 2kg from you, at a price of €20 per kilo. Anything more than 2kg please check with us in advance.

Alternatively, you can take a voucher for our products for a value of €30 per kg of chili.

We will add your name to the list of contributing chili growers on this page (if you want)

As a contributor, you will also be invited to the Berlin Chili Growers Harvest Ball in late September 2020, which will feature performances by local comedians and the launch of the BERLIN SUPERHOT sauce.
